!!POP!!

kicks by Kimberly C. Gaines in collaboration with Samantha N.

Bright colors are back in every facet of our lifes... well if not ours our young people. For the past two weeks I have been trying to get my students to create Pop Art pieces in the vain of Mr. Warhol himself. And for the most part they have been on board. It all stemmed from Sole of the City creator Mark D. Shelton II. I have to give credit where it is due. Mark found an online tutorial and it took off from there! I learned the techniques and passed it on to my young people. One of my students in turn asked "Hey Kim can you teach us...? " He noticed a line art piece in conjunction with the Pop Art tutorial. So the next thing I know I am learning the tedious and addictive ways of Line Art. So far I have created two pieces. Whew! It is fun, frustrating and like I said addictive. I think tomorrow I will post a Line Art gallery (which will consist of the two pieces I created hahahaha). The work my students are doing will be exhibited in June during our June Showcase. I will keep you posted on the haps with that.
