The Childrens and the Delegations

The students we have met were awesome! Yazmine, Leiilia, Valentina, Osama, Daniel, Sonia and the others are great. They are inquisitive, excited and just as rowdy as the kids I love back home. They play sports, chill with their friends, have Facebook pages and are your average teens. They smoke hash, drink alcohol and are sexually active just like the kids I love at home. The school system is very interesting in that the structure is so different from ours. There are 4 required years and that is Kindergarten, then 7th-9th with an optional year of 10th grade to either mature or boost your grades. From there they can go to Jr. College, Business Jr. College, Vocational school or something else and from there is College and it is all FREE.99

Tyra isn't a student in Denmark... she is apart of the delegation.

We have met a host of interesting people and had a good time as well. The two delegations on Integration have met up in the city of Copenhagen. It's the Danes and the Americans. We have had debates on race, education, explored best practices learned about one another's organizations. I have plenty of shots of the great spaces that "youngsters" in Denmark are learning in. We haven't always agreed or seen eye to eye but we have learned from one another and know we are in it for the kids. Some of the shots below are of the "grown folks" who work with the "youngsters" to guide them in the way of the future.

This is just a few more shots. More are on the way to being uploaded.
